BAPPR v2.2 5V DC-DC converter (7-18V input)

The BAPPR v2.2 is a smart 7v-18v in, 5v 5A buck converter designed for addressable LEDs! Designed and open sourced, reproduced with permission by The Mariday. Also available direct (esp. for the EU) here. 

This smart buck converter was designed for battery operated LED systems. It monitors a data line and will disable power when the data signal is not being sent, making it easier to turn off power to the LEDs by turning off just the controller without needing a heavy duty switch for the rest of the power system. 

• Input: 7-18V
• Output: 5V (1%), 5A burst up to 6A
• Great for reducing voltage drop through wiring by converting to 5V near the LEDs
• Super small: 10mm x 31mm

This can't be used to power a Pixelblaze, since it requires a data signal to be enabled, but works well for LEDs! For powering Pixelblaze from similar voltages, use a separate Mini Buck.

The BAPPR can get hot under load. At 3A expect a 15C (27F) rise in temperature, and at 5A expect 36C (65F).
